“You need to do a lot better than to allow and expect a series of robotic email autoresponders to help you recruit people into your network marketing company.”
You must be personal, real and authentic. Robots can’t develop relationships.
Say you go to a networking event, would you hold up a digital recorder with a series of pre-recorded messages and play them back to each person you met at the event and party? Would you really expect this to get you results and develop a relationship?
That would be ridiculous, wouldn’t it? Instead, you try to connect into their reality. You find out who they are, and express who YOU are, and hopefully you both mutually connect with each other. You practice what Dale Carnegie says in “How to Win Friends and Influence People.”
Email communication is really no different in the way you communicate to people, except it’s JUST a different medium of communication. That’s all. The same principles of Dale Carnegie apply, whether it’s person to person, on the phone, Facebook, Google Plus, LinkedIn, email or any other social networking medium.
WRITTEN communication IS the big thing, today. Texting, email, blogs, and all social networks use the written word to communicate to others on a PERSONAL level. It develops relationships, good or bad.
The beauty of the written word is it has “memory.” One can refer back to it. If what you say is good, that’s positive. However, if you’re not careful, it can be very dangerous, too, if you’re negative or write the wrong thing.
So this means one must pay extra thoughtful attention to the quality of what they say to others.
As long as you pay attention to your words, many times, you can be a lot more effective in your WRITTEN word, than in your verbal communication … as you’re not saying the first thing that your primitive mind is impulsing you to say.
So when you write to your network marketing prospect, envision you’re writing a “Dear mom” letter, and write on THAT heartfelt level. People will connect with you easier, knowing you’re the “real deal”.
I’d be doing you a disservice if I didn’t give you at least a specific example of what I mean.
Here is a recent email I sent to somebody who I had a conversation with on the phone, and followed up with a previous email. She did NOT respond to that previous email, and I may have turned her off with it (I don’t know), but I’m using pre-emptive action here, just in case it did.
I’m being REAL here, and this is what I’m trying to say to make sure you do in your emails to others, too. If you “missed the target” in your previous personal email, re-aim (try to find the reality as to why they may not have responded back to your personal email) and try again.
Subject: Hope I didn’t turn you off with those Benny Hinn links
Hi Jane, [note: fake name to protect the innocent. :) ]
I realize that religion is a sensitive subject, and the last thing I want to do with you is to throw that down your throat.
It’s just that the information by Dr. Wallach in those videos is so fascinating to me, I thought I’d share it with you.
I remember you telling me you had looked at Longevity and have been initiated in Amway TWO times. I’ve been initiated, too, in Amway, Shaklee, Fuller Brush, and Stanley Home products. Remember them? :)
Well, I’ve finally found my own PERMANENT home in network marketing, after having been successful with Neways (I opened Japan Neways which resulted in 100,000 distributors in my group) and was successful with Life Force International (my last company of 13 years).
The last 18 years of my life I’ve been a full-time, successful network marketer.
Perhaps you may wonder exactly WHY I chose Youngevity products as my “vehicle” this time. This short 7 minute video does a pretty good job explaining why, and I believe something you may want to consider.
Yours for success!,
P.S. Notice this is NOT an autoresponder, and I’m personally emailing you. I’d really like to get to know you better, and I want to make sure you know I’m not a high-pressure person, and I would love nothing more than YOU to find what strikes in your heart. For me, it’s “mission before commission.”Not Writing Quality, Heart-felt Personal Emails to Your MLM Prospects? You LOSE. by Wayne Gerald
